Hello, I am writing to seek clarification regarding the integration requirements for our proxy purchase/shipping feature.
Background:
Prior to our app approval, we had proxy purchase/shipping tabs on our website. During the review process, your team indicated that:
-
These pages should include UI elements for Shopify order integration
-
The backend should process these features using Shopify APIs
To expedite the approval process, we temporarily deactivated these pages and informed your team that this functionality was under development and would be activated after further refinement. We appreciate that you accepted this approach and granted us final approval.
Current Question:
We would like to confirm the integration requirements for our proxy purchase/shipping feature. Even after development is complete, this feature is not intended to be directly connected to Shopify app integration. Instead, it functions as a simple quote request system where:
-
Users submit quote requests to us (the administrators) when they want proxy purchasing or shipping services
-
It’s purely a user-to-administrator communication channel for requesting quotes on specific items
-
No Shopify orders are directly involved in this quote submission process
Our Questions:
-
Is Shopify Order API integration mandatory for this type of quote request feature?
-
If integration is required, could you provide guidance on how Shopify Order API should be implemented in a quote-based workflow? We are finding it challenging to envision the development flow for this integration.
-
Can we activate this quote request feature as-is, or must we implement Shopify order integration before enabling it?
We want to ensure full compliance with Shopify’s policies before activating this feature. Your clarification on these requirements would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
