Shopify is using the wrong ISO code for a province in my country on webhook payloads.

Does anyone know who I can contact about this issue? The ISO code was changed in 2020. I have logged it with support but nothing seems to be happening.

Specifically, Shopify currently uses “NL” for the webhook payload province code for KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, when it should be “KZN”.

Anybody know how to escalate this to their dev team?

Hi Dave, this is for the default webhook notifications from store admin under Settings > Notifications > Webooks. In the specific example I’m working with the webhook notifications are for “Order Update” events, but this seems to be affecting all events, and the wrong ISO code can be seen in the Shipping Address, Billing Address and Default Address arrays, here is an example below.

@aiden this issue impacts more than just webhooks, so I’ve passed it over to the team that’s responsible for this area. They’ve created an issue on their end to look into it further.
