Remove quantity from certain line items on the checkout

This is for a Shopify Plus merchant. We are open to all options, custom checkout apps, etc.

Is it possible to remove the quantity from certain line items on the checkout (e.g. not show them).

The reason for this is beacuse the merchant sells fabrics in metres / yards - but we are using cms as the base unit, so 7.5 metres becomes a quantity of 750. More problematic is that yards would also be converted to cms, so 7.5 yards becomes a quantity of 686. These numbers would be rather confusing to the customer. We can hide them throughout the rest of the customer journey, but just not at checkout.

I’d love to be able to hide them at checkout for these products.

As far as I am aware it is not currently possible to hide the quantity badge at all.

@Liam-Shopify do you know if this would ever be possible for a Plus store? I would be a major advantage to the UX if we did not have to show the quantity for products sold by length (line item attribues)

If it’s critical for now may just need to swap in a custom item, optionally re-editing the order post purchase so all the downstream stays the same, and for other possible stuff like re-orders.
Or some bundle||nested presentation to maybe lower the visual weight a tad /shrug
