I’m writing this here, hoping someone from the Shopify Dev team can see it and help us. Support wasn’t helpful, they keep blaming custom code, theme etc..
Here are 3 examples of filtering collection called “ბუშტები” .. #2 on-sale works just fine. #3 When you visit this URL TAG part is removed from URL - even when JS disabled #4 is a case where the tag doesn’t exist
I assume that Shopify is not finding products with a TAG that has “Georgian Letters” in it, as it acts similar to what happens when tag doesn’t exists.
This started a few days ago, our code relies heavily on TAG and we need to fix it asap.
I’m also struggling with this issue. Tag filtering doesn’t work with Japanese tags either.
I’ve already submitted a bug report to Shopify, but haven’t received a response.

Me too. Tag filtering suddenly stopped working with Japanese tags, even though we haven’t made any changes to our custom code or theme.
We use this for filtering products on our collection pages and product selection guides. This issue is significantly impacting our users’ shopping experience.
If anyone on the development team is seeing this, we kindly request an urgent resolution.
I 'm experiencing the same symptoms at my place.
Tag filtering with multibyte characters, including Japanese, no longer works.
I hope this will be resolved as soon as possible.
