Shopify POS product discount reapplies unexpectedly after non-combinable order discount

Hii everyone,

I’m experiencing some unusual discount behaviour in Shopify POS and would like to know if this is expected or a possible bug.

Here is my scenario:
I have a product discount (for exmaple 20% off) created in the admin with combinations enabled. When i add product in Shopify POS, this product discount applied correctly on the line item. After that, i apply an order discount (for example a fixed 5 INR) where combinations are not allowed. In this case, the product discount still stays on the product, and the order discount does not work as expected because of the combination setting. On top of that at the final order total it looks like the product discount applied again or recalculated on the full order total as custom discount. Sometimes i even see an different percentage (for example around 9%) appearing as a discount on the order, but there is no such discount created in the admin. The strange part is that the title of my product disocunt is shown on this final “custom” discount line.

I want to know if this behaviour is normal for Shopify POS when mixing a combinable product discount with a non-combinable order discount, or if this could be a bug. I also want to know if there is ant specific POS setting or recommended configuration to avoid this situation.

Thanks in advance!!

Hey @harsh.patel - are you using any custom POS UI extensions or is this happening when you’re using just the standard POS app without any customizations applied? If this is happening with just the standard POS app, the best spot to report this would be directly through help.shopify.com.

If you are seeung this pop up when only extensions are applied to the POS App, if you’re able to share some code snippets with us to see if we can replicate the issue, that would be super helpful. The main focus on the .dev forums are issues/conversations about our developer tooling/resources. Hope this helps!
