Tech support to get “Verified by Shop” review badge

Hi Shopify Team,
We’d like to participate in the Standard Product Review Syndication program. We’re in the process of implementing the necessary changes to our system to meet your requirements, but we faced some issues, and have several questions for the Shop App team.

We have tried reaching out to support directly, but the responders don’t provide relevant answers.

Could you please connect us with the Shop Team who is in charge of technical aspects, so we can get clarification on the following points?

  1. Should the “Verified by Shop” badge only appear on reviews submitted directly in the Shop App, and not through a partner application?
  2. How can we identify whether a review was submitted directly in the Shop App? For example, would the “createdByAppId” field in the metaobject be absent or set to NULL?
  3. If a review was submitted via a partner application and passed moderation, should it also display the “Verified by Shop” badge? If so, how can we determine that the review has been moderated? Based on the metaobject fields, we do not see this information. The documentation states: “Use the badge only for reviews that are successfully syndicated to or from the standard product review metaobject.”
  4. If partner-app reviews can display the “Verified by Shop” badge, we have a follow-up question. We support importing/exporting reviews between partner apps via CSV. If a merchant imports reviews with a metaobject handle included in the CSV, we pull the actual data from the metaobject via the Metaobject API. If that review had already passed moderation by Shop, should we also display the “Verified by Shop” badge next to it? And again, how can we determine whether it has passed moderation?

We’ve already tried it. The AI bot couldn’t reply correctly, and the support team couldn’t help either. Thus, we wanted to contact the tech team
