Trial period behavior on app uninstall & reinstall (Managed Billing)

Hello,

I am building a Shopify app using Managed Billing and I need clarification regarding trial period behavior on uninstall and reinstall.

Scenario:

  • App plan includes a 7-day trial

  • Merchant installs the app and uses 2 days

  • Merchant uninstalls the app

  • Merchant reinstalls the app before the original trial period ends

Observation:

On a development store, the remaining trial days appear to be paused during uninstall and resumed after reinstall.

Questions:

  1. Is trial pausing on uninstall an official and supported behavior in production stores, or is this behavior dev-store only?

  2. After the trial period ends, is there any webhook event that is automatically triggered?

  1. This applies to both the development environment and the official store.
  2. You won’t receive proactive notifications — only changes to subscription details will trigger a notification via webhook.
