I need to submit a formal feature request to the POS product team for native cash rounding support for USD. With the US penny elimination, Shopify POS has no automatic cash rounding for cash transactions and the US is not on the supported countries list. I want this logged as a feature request, not just a community post.

The US isn’t on the supported countries list for cash rounding, since pennies are still legal tender and there’s no confirmed government timeline for phasing them out.
This is already on the radar though. There’s an open feature request tracking native cash rounding for US POS merchants, and your use case lines up with it exactly, so I’m logging your feedback against it. More demand recorded there is a stronger signal to the team. I can’t share a timeline or any committed plan yet, but it is being tracked.
For now the only stopgap is manual rounding at the register, which isn’t automated and won’t reflect cleanly in reporting. If anything changes on supported countries it’ll show up in that POS cash rounding doc, so that’s the page to keep an eye on. Thanks again for raising this!
