I want to use Categories to apply groups of Product Metafields to different products. The stock categories from Shopify are woefully inadequate. How can I do this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Could you use your own custom metafields for this - so create whichever metafield definitions you want and then apply these to products? Or do you want to create your own custom taxonomy categories that would supplement the native taxonomy categories (which may not be supported).
Hi Liam, thanks for the quick reply. I have the Metafields all working correctly but the taxonomy for Shopify’s stock categories is terrible for our use case. What I need to do is set up more appropriate categories so that the people entering the product information only see the metafields applicable to that type of product instead of 150 non-relevant ones.
What would be examples of categories you’d like to see? This would be great feedback for the product team that owns this space.
