Using theme app extensions to add block to item in Cart page

Hi folks,

I want to add an identical div container to every item that is selected in the cart page.
Currently, we are asking the merchant to inject the code in their theme but how can I do this in theme app extension?

I have tried App embed blocks but it only injects it near the end of header or body tags so not useful.
I am also unable to add App Blocks to the “Item” section.

Is there any hacky solution for this? A solution for just the Dawn theme would suffice too.
Would be great if there is a way to attach a block to a target div or something along those lines.

I should have clarified. I wish to add this to the Cart Page and not the card drawer (or cart popup).
