We are unable to move orders between locations

The Shopify routing continues to route our orders to our physical locations that are not configured to fulfill online orders, and that don’t stock items online.

The typical store is set up as:

So even though orders get routed to these locations we end up post-processing them and force the items to the correct location. We’ve been in discussions with Shopify around this topic for almost a year, and it still is occurring on the majority of our orders.

So, this hasn’t been an issue since we put in our fix (even though it’s still annoying and causes operational pain points).

However beginning a couple of days ago we have been unable to move orders back to our fulfillment centers. The fulfillmentOrderMove mutation returns “Could not reassign inventory” despite locationsForMove confirming the move is allowed.

We can’t even have our teams move the fulfillment manually after the fact because we’re getting a host of different errors on the console – when trying the same action:

Sometimes we get:

Other times we get (on the same order):

This has severely disrupted operations at our facilities. And we currently have no path forward. Is anyone else experiencing similar behavior or have any sort of workaround for the time being?
