Before investing hundreds hours building and publishing a new theme for the Shopify Theme Store and risk getting rejected, I was wondering if there was any guidance as to which categories or niches are they looking for, both in terms of functionality and design?
If Shopify provided some guidance on this it would be helpful to build exactly what they are looking for, since they know what is in demand by merchants.

We typically don’t share merchant behaviour on a industry level for themes - I’d recommend asking merchants directly what they require in a theme or performing market research.
@Liam-Shopify Theme Partners used to receive a monthly newsletter, and were often provided a list of the top industries to promote new theme demos. The last was November ‘25.
