Has anyone tried building a forum like integration into Shopify?

I.e.

  • Allow log in in with other social platform, like GitHub, LinkedIn, Google and so on? Maybe any good app recommendations related to this?
  • Allow nested comments layer, allowing to comment on others comments
  • Allow extended customer profiles, to follow posts commented on, or comments overview and such

In terms of app recommendations, there is a Built for Shopify App here on the shop that might meet what you’re looking for: Mega Community - Mega Community app for Shopify | Shopify App Store

If you were looking at developing an app or integration yourself and allow for a way to have customers connect easily between their account on a shop and the community forum, you could possibly use the Customer Accounts API to set this up seamlessly: Customer Account API reference
