Are there any work arounds for being able to edit an unfulfilled local delivery order in admin? We have customers who want to add a product or upgrade their size after the order is placed, but the order can’t be changed as it’s a local delivery. We have an app installed at the moment but it’s expensive. We have also tried the cancel/duplicate and edit order option, but this isn’t really seamless for reporting or customers tax invoices.
Hey @Elli_Gregory - you’re correct, right now, there isn’t a way to edit local delivery orders (more info here) through the admin or through the API directly.
I’m not sure which app you’re using, but my hunch is they may be handling those edits through a similar cancel/duplicate function (but just automated through the API). I know this is a feature other folks have asked for in the past, so what I’m happy to do is forward your request on as a feature request.
I can’t guarantee anything on my end here, but I have seen feature requests I’ve put through get implemented as full fledged features, so this does happen pretty often.
Hope this helps a little bit, let me know if I can clarify anything on my end here.
Hey Alan, thanks for your reply.
We’re using Cleverific at the moment, and it basically does cancel the original order and allow for changes, but the biggest difference is that the total amount of the order remains the same, but the customer just pays the difference. With cancelling and duplicating through Shopify, we have to add a manual discount which then makes our reporting inaccurate as it shows as a discounted order and the original one is cancelled. If there was a way to either just edit local deliveries, or have more flexibility with adding manual payments to an order, this would be a gamechanger. For example, add a partial payment, which we could record as paid via the original order, and then just collect the remaining value of the order. Thanks so much for forwarding the request on, this feature would be hugely helpful!
