Access denied to protected customer data in custom app

I’m developing in a custom app and a test store, but I’m being denied access to customer information in orders. However, there’s no way to apply for protected customer access in the custom app. What should I do?

You should be able to request it from Partner Dashboard. Check Shopify API access scopes
