Access to the Advanced DOM Events in web pixel app extensions

Hi,

Our app (Web-Stat) needs to request access to the Advanced DOM Events in web pixel app extensions.

The doc at Web-pixels-api advanced-dom-events states “To request access, contact pixels-product-team@shopify.com.” We did so a month ago. We received an email back with some questions. We responded and since then, nothing.

We contacted pixels-product-team@shopify.com again and just received a message telling us to use the “API Access” menu for the app under Shopify Partners… Except we see nothing related to that particular permission.

Can someone please help/advise? We have been trying to get this moving for 4 weeks and have made zero progress so far :frowning:

No, they did not. I actually got a nice answer from Dave Strang. He sounded positive and asked a few questions:

Thanks for reaching out. Your app looks very cool. I’m curious if you only need time on page or if there is anything else you need?

The advanced DOM api is designed for apps that provide heatmaps and session recording so it might be overkill for your needs. In this case, we might just add that information to the regular web pixel events.
