Hello all, I am pretty new to Shopify apps, I deployed my first about a year ago. My concern is, the more I have worked on it, the less visibility I am getting. I have added several upgrades and have improved my app, but I am pretty much at a stand still for the lest 3 months, very little downloads or subscriptions. Even with Shopify paid ads, very little activity. My app is in a very competitive niche, over 300 just like it and maybe this is the problem. However, I have one app I have recently submitted for review and another which is several months out, but I do not want history to repeat itself. I do feel I am lacking in exposure and I have recently stopped working on my already deployed app because if I am not even getting many impressions, I am not waisting my time. If there are any suggestions, I would appreciate it.
Hey @TROY_SUMMERALL,
Being in a very competitive niche could definitely be part of it. With so much competition you do need ways to stand out from the others.
Do you have built for Shopify Status? If not, I would focus on that as it shows merchants that you’re meeting the high quality standards.
We have some additional go-to-market resources that can help as well:
Yeah, I understand that, but it’s hard to get built by Shopify without reviews, and it’s hard to get reviews without installs. At the moment, I am getting no installs over the last 3 months.
Hey @TROY_SUMMERALL, what kind of marketing are you doing outside of the app store? Since installs have stalled, that could be a good way to get those flowing again.
I would also suggest checking out the Shopify Academy. We have a bunch of really great marketing courses there:
While these are tailored to merchants, the fundamentals would be the same for anyone marketing on the internet.
