We’re working on a client store where they sell custom artworks. They have more than 3 options in each product so we have used Easify to create these options and showing frame overlays also based on the option selection.
We’re looking for an AR preview app that allows us to work with these custom options and custom frames that we have. Most of apps that we have reviewed are very limited in features and doesn’t serve our purpose of working with easify options. We’re open for custom development/script if it solves the purpose.
Let us know if there’s an app that solves this. Or any company that has solved this before. Thanks!
Kyle’s suggestion is the right direction, and for framed artwork it’s easier than it sounds because the geometry is trivial: a frame profile plus a flat plane with the artwork as a texture.
The practical approach is one GLB per frame style and size, with the artwork applied as a texture. Since the mesh is so simple, this can be automated per variant rather than hand-modeled. Pair each GLB with a USDZ so iOS users get AR Quick Look, which supports wall placement, exactly what framed art needs. Android handles wall detection through Scene Viewer with the same GLB.
For the Easify options: Shopify’s native media gallery won’t switch 3D models per custom option, so render your own model-viewer element and swap its src when the selection changes. Easify fires standard input events, so a small script mapping option combination to model URL covers it. That also keeps you out of per-model AR app pricing.
One thing that matters more for wall art than most categories: bake real physical dimensions into the file in meters, so a 24x36 print shows up at 24x36 on the customer’s wall.
Disclosure: I build EVERYTHING Studios, which generates the 3D/AR model from your existing product photos, delivered as one line you paste into your page. Happy to run one of your client’s framed pieces through it free so you can judge whether it handles the custom-options case.
