I noticed a bug that is creating an unfair advantage for some apps.
Our app Rubik is the number one result on the App Store search results for the “variant images“ keyword.
But when merchants are searching from the Shopify admin search, we are not even appearing on the list.
The ranking in the admin search bar should be based on App Store ranking. And I believe there is a bug that creates an unfair advantage.
Also in AI (guided search) results our app Rubik is the first but still not even shown in admin search
This is another example, even icon of app is old. I have feeling this index is just old and haven’t been updated for a long time. App on the position #8 is shown as the only result.

Thanks for your patience on this while we investigated this issue fully. We’ve concluded the current behaviour is not a bug - the admin search is intentionally no longer synced with the app store search which is why you’re seeing differences between the two surfaces. The admin search operates using an expanded dataset so results will not match search on the app store.

Thanks for looking into this @Liam-Shopify I appreciate it I think algorithm can be improved here but it is good to know there is no bug and it works as intended.
