Bulk Product Uploads - Images Failing

I manage stores for multiple clients and regularly perform bulk product uploads via CSV through the Shopify admin. Lately, I’ve encountered a recurring issue: when Shopify processes the CSV and pulls product images hosted on AWS, around 20% of the images appear partially gray.

I’ve confirmed that the original images on AWS are intact and display correctly, so the problem doesn’t appear to be on our end. The issue seems completely random — it’s not limited to transparent images, larger files, or specific formats. I’ve used this same data feed and image set for years without issue, and this only began happening about 5–6 months ago — roughly around the time Shopify introduced AI-based image enhancements.

This affects about 50 client stores, so I need to find a resolution quickly. Any insight or support would be greatly appreciated.

Also I would like to mention, normally our app does the product creation, and we have the same issue. But now we tested on both, bulk product upload through the admin and when we create products through our shopify app.

Can you share a shop_id/product_id of an affected shop, or a url to an image that is causing these issues.
