Cannot install the dev extension to the POS for 2025-10

I generated a new POS extension with shopify app generate extensionyesterday following the getting started guide. My extension is a smart grid. My toml shows 2025-10 API version.

My Android app is 10.11.1. When I run shopify app dev, I can’t install my dev app and preview my extension (step 3). Eight out of ten times, I can’t find it after scanning the QR code.

I can find it in the remaining times. But it gives me “You must upgrade your POS - Upgrade the POS to the latest version” like the screenshot:

What do I do wrong? My Android app is already the latest one and I can’t upgrade it. Is your Android app’s build version bound to the API version?

Hey @Benny_Chan, apologies you’re running into this issue. POS 10.12 is required for API version 2025-10 and is currently in the process of being rolled out. Hopefully it should reach you soon.

Is there anywhere I can see which POS version supports which API version?

I am worried about one thing. If I upgrade the API version of the POS extension, will this upgrade break the extension? Many users may still use the old POS app. They don’t always upgrade the app
