Does anybody know if collaborator accounts can access and change notification templates?
I have not found a combination of permissions that allow that but have clients that need changes. Typically that involves them sharing the code with me, I make changes, then send the code back.
If there is not currently a way, having one added would be great!
Are you sure? I just figured I would try asking the help center Assistant and it shared this:
Collaborators do not have access to Notification Templates in Shopify. Only account owners and staff members with the appropriate permissions can access and edit these templates.
I’ve never had an issue with being able to modify notification templates with standard set of permissions I ask for - under settings just managing settings and then standard for theme modifications.
You’re talking about like for order notifications and things of that nature?
Maybe I simply had not requested or been granted the right set of permissions then. I’ll ask for them and see if it enables the notification settings for me.
In collaborator access request it’s just the traditional “Manage settings” under Administration I believe.
Trying to pull up and screenshot what the request looks like in a shop - since the admin from the merchant side for permissions looks criminally different than what we request in collabs - but at the moment Shopify is struggling / throwing 500s so will update later if I can.
Thanks for the answers here @keiraarts and @taylor! It worked. Apparently before when I have needed them I just never had the right set of permissions but it seems what you have suggested does the trick!
