Based on the documentation, theme app blocks do not support the color_scheme setting (Input settings).
Are there any plans to introduce support for color scheme settings in theme app extensions? This would be a highly valuable feature for customizing extensions, as it would eliminate the need to create multiple individual color settings for each element. A single color scheme can be applied to various theme sections and app blocks, streamlining the merchant experience by eliminating the need to customize colors for each app individually, ensuring consistent colors throughout the storefront page.

My guess here is that because color schemes would not be able to be pulled from the theme’s color schemes (if any) anyway they had not made it a priority so far. That and they could have a an arbitrary amount of Liquid code involved in setup that could easily push toward the limitations.
@Liam-Shopify it would be a nice-to-have though for potential consistency among merchant experience.
