When using combined listings, if one of the child products has the “unlisted” status, the entire combined listing behaves incorrectly and shows products as unavailable even though they are in stock.
Reproduction steps
Create a combined listing with multiple child products
Set at least one or all of the child products to “unlisted”
Ensure all products (including the unlisted one) are in stock and available
Open the product page of the combined listing
Select different product options
Additional info
This issue is not theme-specific, we explicitly verified this in Shopify’s Horizon theme, where the same issue occurs.
Actual result:
The product options can be selected
The buy button remains “Unavailable” or “Out of stock”
The options appear visually disabled (as if out of stock)
Expected behavior:
The “unlisted” status should not affect purchasability within a combined listing
Products that are available/in stock should remain purchasable
The buy button should be active when a valid product is selected
Hey @connie - thanks for the detailed report here.
This does seem like unexpected behaviour to me. The unlisted status is meant to hide products from collections and search results, but shouldn’t affect their purchasability when accessed through a combined listing page.
I’m going to flag this internally and dig into it further.
A couple things that would help with the investigation - could you share your store URL (or a preview link where we can see the combined listing in action)? If you’d prefer not to share that publicly, let me know and I can open a DM with you.
Hey @connie - wanted to follow up here, still keen to dig into this one on our end. Were you able to share a store URL or preview link? Happy to open a DM if easier.
Hi, excuse my late response but the issue has been resolved in the meantime. It seemed it was a user error after all, the products were not set up correctly - some or all of the child products were not enabled on the Online Store sales channel.
