Hi POS team,
I just saw that that Shopify POS v11.6.1 was released, with the release notes “Fixes two critical memory issues”.
Over the last week or so, we have received many complaints from merchants, and even lost merchants, due to extreme lag and performance degredation in our app.
I’ve spent several days trying to figure out where the issue is, and then as soon as I saw & applied the 11.6.1 update, our app was back to performing as normal again.
I’m wondering if there could be a newsletter or forum post updates here to keep POS app developers up to date when there are issues like this, so that we are aware of known bugs on POS? This will greatly help us with communicating with merchants, and also save us time investigating bugs within our own apps.
I really appreciate the opportunity to provide feedback, and I hope it doesn’t sound like I’m complaining all the time; on the contrary, we absolutely love building on POS and we are so thankful for the incredible work that the POS dev team are doing. We’re just making some small suggestions to make things even better ![]()
