URGENT is there a UI Extensions or other outage right now?

Certain merchants across all our POS apps are getting an error as soon as they open our extension. No requests succeed to our backend server.

Seems like it, I can reproduce it on my own Shopify POS device (iPad) , and have received a few feedback from merchants , mentioning they are unable to access POS tiles functionality of third party apps.

A fix has been merged and will be deployed shortly.

Thanks for your patience and we apologize for any inconveniences.

Would this also affect app admin extensions?

@Victor_Chu

Does this same fix apply to the admin UI extensions? I have reports of that being broken.

Admin should be fixed. We’re still investigating POS, if you need a immediate fix reinstalling the POS app will fix the issue.

Our admin UI extension is still failing in all environments.

@Victor_Chu it’s the same DataCloneError on POS (see below). Telling our merchants to uninstall and reinstall our app is not practical. Please keep us updated.

Yes I’m seeing the same error being reported by merchants. They are looking to start stock counting, so it’s pretty urgent

@derrick @JordanFinners We tried a couple more things. Could you do some more testing? Is it still occurring?

Yes, still getting the same DataCloneError right now. I’ll also try to Reset Account on the iPad and see if that helps.

It looks like it’s only happening on IOS, as it’s working fine on Android. I’ll ask my merchants to try.

No, I can confirm it’s happening on my own Android device too.

EDIT: @Victor_Chu I did Reset Account and now it’s working. Do merchants need to Reset Account (log back out and log back in)?

My merchants are still seeing this issue on thier devices

@JordanFinners on iOS, tell them to log out and log back into Shopify POS - this worked for me and my teammate.

On Android, I’m still getting a DataCloneError even after logging back out and logging back in. I’ll try to clear data.

Edit: On Android, I had to Clear Storage, but now we’re also back.

@Victor_Chu any chance of an incoming fix that doesn’t require logging out / clearing device data?

@Victor_Chu got some merchants experiencing this issue now on Shopify POS. One of them resolved it by reinstalling the POS application but strangely that only worked for one of our extensions, the other one continues to exhibit the problem.

It is still occurring for myself the merchants I’m working with.

@simon_b see my post above on what worked for our team on POS.

@derrick thanks for the suggestions, this merchant is on iOS and has already tried signing out and back in with no effect, doing a POS reinstall resolved it for them, but not for all extensions.

At least they can continue to operate now though as one of the extensions is back after the reinstall so they aren’t affected now which is good.

@simon_b if logging out and back in doesn’t work, try going one step further with Reset Account:

iOS Settings > Apps > Shopify POS > Reset Account > Enable this
