Do We Need to Update Our App Based on Shopify’s Publishable API Changes?

Hi Shopify Community,

We received the following email from Shopify regarding changes to product publishing:

We are still using the REST API and also our app currently does not update the published_at or published_scope fields for products.

Is it still necessary to update our app to request the write_publications permission?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, if your app does not do any product publishing / does not update the published_at or published_scope fields, you do not need these permissions and do not need to fill in the form.
