Does merchant need to pay for app usage charges created during the trials of a app recurring charge?

Hi all,

Says a merchant approves a recurringApplicationCharge of an app with a trials of 7 days. During the 7 days trials, if the app also creates app usage charge, then does the merchant need to pay for the usage charges?

My understanding is that the merchant do not need to pay for the usage charges if the charges are created during trials. Just want to confirm if my understanding is correct. Thanks!

Hey @peter !

Trial periods only apply to the recurring subscription charge itself, not to usage charges. When you create a 7-day trial with trialDays: 7, merchants won’t pay the recurring subscription fee during those 7 days, but any usage charges you create with appUsageRecordCreate will still be billed immediately.
