Export orders to external sftp

is there any way to export orders to external sftp (such as daily orders) and create a schedule to automate it?

You’ll either need to build your own custom app which runs daily and gets the last 24 hours of orders, order use something like Matrixify.

any way to do it from shopify store?

Did you bother to take a look at the link I sent you?

I was requesting an account so I could go to web UI and try myself.

yesterday I just got access and try it. looks like Matrixify is not free at $20/month/store. since we will have multiple stores for long term, I have to try some different tools.

also any tutorial to create own app?

thanks,

Luke

hi, @Luke , I am using another app bulkflow for data export but it reports an unexpected error. who is the best person I could work with to troubleshoot this error.

the sftp account is manually tested and it is work, but not in bulkflow UI.

I would suggest reaching out to the app developers/support.

Luke’s got it if you need fast off the shefl behavior and can afford it.
Otherwise the usemechnic app has SFTP behavior and waaaay more control over logic.
And cheaper as they have a PWFG(pay what feels good policy) so if your on budget just reach out to them to negotiate a price , or reduced rate because of multiple stores :person_shrugging:.

It’s even more applicable if the multiple stores need some sort of inter-store communication logic , like syncing line-items, or recording order numbers in attributes to build relationships etc before the export happens.

thanks, @Luke @PaulNewton, if I want to develop my own customized app, is there any tutorial.

I thought the apps are owned by shopify, but it looks like an open community.

There are no tutorials to create exactly what you’re looking for. I suggest you learn the Shopify API’s and build something out yourself. If that’s not possible then I suggest hiring a developer to do this from somewhere like https://www.storetasker.com/

Hey @Lujun_zhang, for your SFTP export needs, Mechanic app has pre-built tasks that handle the scheduling and file transfer logic. Worth checking their task library since it’ll save you from building the API integration from scratch.

@Luke @PaulNewton thanks for all of your suggestions.

after two weeks of research and back-forth emails with support teams, I will move further with an app bulkflow which enabled automated file export to sftp, which is an ideal way for automation purpose.
