Hey Shopifolk – the Company object doesn’t support tags today, only metafields. Metafields work fine for structured data, but they don’t give the quick filtering/segmentation and bulk actions that tags do — e.g., bulk-adding companies to the right catalogs by tier, industry, or account type.
Would be great to see tags added as first-class support on Company, similar to Customer and Product. Any chance this could get on the roadmap?
Hey again @Colby - just confirming this is currently a platform limitation. Company supports metafields, but tags aren’t exposed as a field on the Company object today.
I definitely get the use case around quick segmentation, bulk workflows, and catalog assignment. Metafields are the best current workaround for structured company-level data, but I get that the don’t fully meet the functionality of tags. I’ll file this as a feature request on our end!
