GitHub theme integration subdirectory

Hi, I love the GitHub theme integration but it has one major flaw. Could you please add an option to select a subdirectory of a GitHub repository as the theme instead it needing to be the root?

I have tried using submodules in Git and using custom GitHub actions, but if we had this feature our lives would be so much easier.

Use cases are managing multiple stores for a client, or having a theme and custom app in the same repository.

Additionally, it would be nice to be able to connect or at least see which themes are GitHub-connected with the Admin GraphQL API. Working at an agency with many clients, this would make monitoring our clients stores and themes much easier.

I really hope you will consider this!

Thank you.

Hi Wiebe,

Totally see how an option for subdirectories would allow for more flexibility and make managing multiple instances easier, as you wouldn’t need to switch between repos. This is a recorded feature request that our team are exploring, but in the meantime, there are some alternatives that you could test out described in this topic: Shopify Github integration - support for multiple stores

Thanks! I’m aware of the alternatives, but they add complexity to a problem that is so close to being solved by the integration.

It would really help us if this gets prioritized.
