What I am trying to do is, give the option to my users to upload a digital product. And give them the option to edit it later. And for that, they need permission to edit only the product that they have uploaded. I had an idea, of giving the product created a hidden metafield, with the user’s ID. And with that enable him to edit the products. But I have not yet tried it. My question is, is this the general way of doing this, and if there is a better way to do such things?
Customer account API does not support writing to Product metafield objects. Here is the list of supported objects.
Is your idea to allow customers to create products? I would recommend you to reach our to the Partner community slack (ShopifyPartners.slack.com) and ask your question there. They will have better guidance.
