When viewing a collection with Dawn, when shopper clicks a filter, the images show the appropriate variant
When viewing a collection with Horizon, when shopper clicks a filter, the images do not change.
For example, if the shopper clicks on “green” hats, Dawn would update the view to show all the green hat variants. In Horizon, it just shows the main hats and the shopper has to click each product to see the green color.
how can this be resolved?

- happy to take a look into this as this does seem unexpected. Are you setting up the filters through the Search/Discovery app or have any other changes implemented on Horizon itself or is it just a default Horizon theme template?

Yes it is filters through search/discovery app. The only change is switching to Horizon theme from Dawn. If I change back to Dawn, the variant images work again.

We shipped some updates related to this - can you test with the most recent version of Horizon to confirm if default variant images are now behaving as expected?
@Liam-Shopify Horizon 1.0.4 was released around the same time as my original post. The release notes don’t mention anything about variant images with filters. Nevertheless, I tested with 1.0.4 and the problem persists. Perhaps you meant for me to check 1.0.5 as soon as it is released?
My apologies - this doesn’t look to be available in the current version, but should be available in the next version release.

Hello, I have the latest version of Horizon theme Version 3.0.1 and the issue still persists where if you select a product option filter (variant) on a collection page, it still show the default image instead of the variant image. Whereas it should change to the variant option selected. I also had this issue with version 3.
Hi @LUNATIDE - thanks for reporting this, more than happy to dig into this on our end here. Out of curiosity, did you notice if this was happening on any version of Horizon between 1.05 and 3? I just want to narrow down to see if the issue itself is a potential regression or a new issue popping up in version 3+. Hope to hear from you soon!
