In most B2B scenarios, orders are being placed by customers up to 1 year in advance of the brand shipping their order. We are running into an issue setting up our checkout steps where Shopify does not allow the shipping method section to be easily removed, but is also generating wildly inaccurate shipping estimates (even with the detailed UPS app set up). Not to mention shipping costs will inevitably change, and we cannot promise this at preseason order checkout. We add shipping and invoice through our ERP, not Shopify, for our B2B customers. I have been working through steps with Checkout Blocks, still unable to add the function to remove this section without various errors. Any insight? Thanks!
Hi Megan,
At the moment we don’t have a way to hide default sections of checkout.
You have great case for why we should add support for this so we will document this for future consideration.
As a workaround, I recommend using an app to hide all shipping rates except for a free one called ‘Calculated at a later date’. Then use an app to add any messaging above the Shipping section.
