For partners building apps around inventory syncing / shared-stock behavior across separate variants, it would be helpful to understand how to interpret this change from a product-planning perspective.

  • Should partners expect merchant-facing support for multiple variants sharing a single inventory item in the near-to-medium term?
  • If that support is planned, is it expected to be a broad catalog capability, or something tied to specific product/inventory workflows?

Any clarification would be appreciated.
