JS Buy SDK Deprecation Emails

Earlier this year I received emails for multiple stores that notified me that I needed to upgrade the JS Buy SDK, or move my sites over to using the Cart API or new Storefront API client. The emails looks like this:

This is the final notice regarding your store’s use of the JS Buy SDK library . Action is needed by July 1, 2025 to maintain functionality. If you’ve already addressed this, please disregard this message.

I went through each of my sites, removed all references to the JS Buy SDK, and implemented a new approach with the Cart API. Despite this, I’ve continued to receive emails from Shopify saying my apps have made requests with the JS Buy SDK library — even though I cant find any references to it at all. Has anyone else had issues with this? Or are these emails coming in just because I had historically been using the JS Buy SDK?

Hey @Mitchell_Barton, from what I have seen the emails are sent only when there are still calls made to the deprecated resource.

In this case, I would reach out to our support team directly. They have some tools to confirm if the calls are still being made and help you pin point where they are coming from.

Thanks for the response! I have tried reaching out but havent gotten through to anybody with technical knowledge. Maybe I’ve used the wrong links to contact support. Can you point me in the right direction?

All requests should be routed through the main help center if that helps: https://help.shopify.com/en/partners

If you have an open ticket and willing to share the ID, I can check to ensure it’s with the proper team.
