Legacy POS Extensions Deprecation

Hello Shopify Devs – as was previously announced, we are confirming that the Shopify POS ‘legacy’ extensions of POS Links, POS cart app extensions, and POS product recommendations extensions have now been deprecated. Developers and merchants will no longer be able to view or access these extensions in Shopify POS.

Our recommendation has been, and will continue to be, to rebuild legacy extensions with POS UI Extensions. Not only do POS UI Extensions have extensive capabilities today, but we’ll continue to grow these capabilities into the future.

If you have rebuilt your apps using POS UI extensions we encourage you to continue communicating with your merchants to have them switch to the POS UI extension version of your app as this will not be an automated process.

Hi @Liam-Shopify,

We are encountering an issue while releasing our app, which previously utilized both POS links and admin links.

We have successfully migrated the admin links using the import-extensions command. However, we are now unable to deploy the new version of the application because the POS links still exist in the Partner Dashboard and we no longer have a way to remove them.

I am attaching a screenshot of the error (which doesn’t appear to be the actual root cause) along with the CLI output generated just before the failure.
