Links from a customer account extension cannot open in new tab?

Wondering if the sandboxing of Shopify’s extensions e.g. Customer accounts, Checkout - allows for links to open in a new tab?

target=”_blank” does not seem to work anywhere. For reference, I have created an Order Action extension which opens a pdf link which is hosted on the Shopify CDN. Cannot seem to open this in a new tab, it always opens in the same tab.

Hi there, @mwom . Are you using Polaris React or Polaris web components? If you’re using React, have you tried using the external prop and setting it to true? Here’s the Shopify docs I’m referencing: Link . I hope this helps.

Hi Isaac,

Yes, using the new Polaris web components, so trying to use s-button or s-link. Just realised however, that the issue was that the particular target I wanted to use had restricted properties, which didn’t include target

CustomerAccountAction for reference
