Hi @Alan_G ,
I saw this recent post concerning marketplace connector apps: Shopify has deemed this app as a connector app.
In that post it mentions providing a signed End Recipient Data Acknowledgement Form.
This is different from the rejection reason I recieved from Shopify which simply said “Shopify is not currently accepting apps that connect to a marketplace system outside of Shopify.”
Does this mean there is still a path forward to allow my app to export Shopify products to eBay and to also include two-way product content sync? (Note, by export I mean cross-listing to eBay, not transferring and removing products from the merchant’s Shopify store).
I am struggling to get traction with my app and I suspect it has to do with the lack of ability to export. My potential customer base is greatly reduced due to this.
Being that eBay is a large corporation, it is likely I won’t be able to obtain a signature from them. In that case, is there any workaround with respect to eBay specifically?
There are many existing eBay integrations in the Shopify app store that include exporting and I won’t be able to compete if I can’t match them on that core functionality. It is a shame because most of my efforts went into improving the export process because in general it is quite complicated. I have a couple of users so far and would like to continue supporting them, but if my app can’t grow due to this reason, I will have to sunset it because I won’t be able to generate any profit.
