New customer account

I’m using Multipass for OTP login.

What I understand is that this will be deprecated and use OIDC to make this new behaviour. Can someone confirm that we will have to use this method for OTP as well?

I might be the only one but I still don’t understand why this “new” account is pushed for so long, I tried and it doesn’t bring a lot of value. It bring a lot of work for robust features that we developed and more painful than anything else.

New customer accounts natively support email-based OTP. So if OTP login is your primary use case with Multipass today, you don’t need to set up a full OIDC integration to keep that functionality. It works out of the box with the new customer account experience.

The OIDC route via a third-party identity provider is there if you want to connect an external login provider. You can read more in the identity provider documentation
