Need help implementing Login using Phone number

i am using shopify as cms for backend and nextjs for frontend. i want to allow user to signup and singin using phone number instead of email the thing is to connect customers with cart and other stuff we need customer access token. and to create customer access token email is required so i there a work around for this or is there no other way but to use email only?

It seems you’ll need email, even with multipass, email is required as a minimum.
