New fields have been introduced to enable parent-child (nested) relationships between cart lines, supporting use cases such as warranties, engravings, and gift-wrapping.
What happened to this change log? Is there any further information about it?
My guess is it was a mistake. The docs linked in the changelog page was also a 404.
Hope it will eventually be released though.
