When changing a value for a translatableContent resource the digest changes, but the translations related to that resource, does still have the key “outdated”: false, which makes no sense?

Hi @Anders_Christiansen! I had a look for you, including a test on a dev store. What you’re seeing doesn’t look expected.
Translation.outdated is documented as whether the original content has changed since the translation was last updated, so after a menu rename changes the translatableContent digest, outdated should be true for that key.
On a test store I registered a title translation on a menu, then changed the menu title through menuUpdate. The digest changed immediately, but outdated stayed false on every read over a couple of minutes, which matches your report. That was the same Admin GraphQL path as your CheckMenuTranslation query, so it doesn’t look like anything on your side.
I’ve raised this with the relevant team since the flag doesn’t appear to be updating for menu translations.
In the meantime, you can store the digest from translatableContent when you register the translation and compare it against the current digest when you read. If they differ, the source content changed, whether or not outdated has caught up yet.

Hi @Anders_Christiansen - an update on this for you! You were right that the flag wasn’t updating. This was a confirmed issue on our side, and a fix has shipped.
I re-tested on a dev store after the fix. On one test I registered a Swedish title translation on a menu, changed the menu title through the API, and the translation reported outdated: true immediately after the source digest changed. I also renamed an existing menu through the Shopify admin and saw the same result: the digest changed and the existing translation flipped to outdated: true on the next read.
If you re-run your original request and still see outdated: false after the source value changes, post the new request ID and I’ll take another look. Thanks for reporting this here!
