Partner Slack Access

Hi,
How does a new partner join shopifypartners.slack.com slack workspace? It does not accept my Shopify partner e-mail. So far unable to locate the workspace owner or find a request form. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
David

I’m not sure - I thought everyone could join.

Does this link work for you? Slack

However, I think for a lot of cases this forum will be replacing parts of the community slack.

That linked worked great. Thanks!

Just to raise awareness here. The current join slack flow is difficult for newcomers because:

  1. We need to create a slack account using an email with an accepted host, but assuming the new joiner host name isn’t on that list, there’s no way to request an invite
  2. The copy on the login form says to " Contact the workspace administrator at Shopify Partners Slack Community for an invitation." but there’s no way to do that.

Using the Contact Us redirects to the login page which then fails because we can’t create a slack user.

My specific use case is to generally ask a development specific question about custom CSS for a Shopify Form element, which seems a bit too nuanced for a forum type thread, but I have no other connections to Shopify Developers.

The current slack flow seems to support devs already in the discussions, but makes it hard for new devs to come on board.

Can anyone in this place link me to the partner slack at all?

Without being on Twitter/X I don’t even know how to contact someone that might be able to..

Does the link in my previous post work for you?

Does this link work for you? Slack

If by work you mean does it load a 200 page, yes it works. As far as the business side of things, I can’t enter my email because the list of domains is controlled. In order to add my domain, I’d need to contact someone in the slack

This circular dependency leads to only those in the slack community being able to join the slack community.

A picture tells 1000 words

So if I was an employee at New, I wouldn’t be able to join because new.com isn’t in the list of domains that are allowed

Sorry, I might have misunderstood the link and how I was initially invited to the community.

Look at this, at the bottom of the list

Don’t have an email address from one of those domains?
Contact the workspace administrator at Shopify Partners Slack Community for an invitation.

If you’re a Partner already, your Partner manager might also be able to help you.

So you need to contact the workspace admin, in the slack community… even though you aren’t in the community? Who is the admin to contact?

If you click the Contact Us link at the bottom, it redirects to the login… which makes things tricky.

Looking at the URL of that link it seems like it’s supposed to support new partner flow, but isn’t.

If you’re a Partner already, your Partner manager might also be able to help you.

I have made a dev store under my partner account, so I assume I’m a Partner already? I haven’t once heard any comms from a “Partner Manager” should I have?

Sorry for all the questions, it just seems like the Shopify Dev community is hard to break into. I’d love to discuss with some other devs the theme deployment flow they use vs what I’ve come up with, to make sure I’m using the Shopify CLI correctly etc.

That’s just one use case.

All the general comments about the slack community seems to indicate that the Slack is almost deprecated in preference for this forum, which is fine, but I definitely prefer instant messaging over forum threads, maybe others do. I am not upset, just wanted to bring to someone’s attention the gap in the flow that I seem to have fallen into

Hi Shopify Partner team,
Can you also add us to the slack channel? @teleship.com domain. We’re a shopify partner.
Best,
