Problem with Sidekick and Shopify app store search results for apps

We developed an app called “CFDI Express” (CFDI Express ‑ Facturación - Facturación CFDI para Shopify en línea y POS | CFDI... | Shopify App Store) and it is not being suggested in Sidekick or app store search when looking for CFDI invoicing for Mexico. CFDI keyword is in the name and the listing has CFDI in the description and keywords. Whats wrong with the listing? why is the app store search and sidekick recomendations don’t show the app?

CFDI is one of the keywords, but “facturación” and “impuestos” are other examples of keywords in title, description and keywords that the app has but still don’t show results in the app store or sidekick.

I attach the screenshot of a conversation i had with sidekick as an example:

Hi @rafaremo

Thanks for sharing this - digging into why this app is not appearing in Sidekick results. It’s possible it’s due to it not being available in English, but I’m investigating this now.

Hi again @rafaremo

From exploring this more - it looks like this is expected behaviour when an app is not available in the language/region you’re chatting with Sidekick in.

The results from Sidekick will mimic what is shown on the App Store when someone searches directly there. EG: If you search CFDI and CFDI Express on the Shopify App Store when locale is English, the app will not appear in search results, because it’s not available in English, and the app is not available in your region.

Thank you for digging into this @Liam-Shopify; it is clear now. I will add the English locale so it appears when a Mexican store user has English set up as their locale.

There’s still a problem I see with this:

As you mentioned, the app is only available for stores with an address in Mexico—that’s the only requirement we set up in the listing section. Many Mexican Shopify store owners/admins have their locale set to a language other than Spanish, but the app still works for them, and they are missing the chance to discover the app.

Still, this was super helpful. Thank you again.
