Regression: UK province code is null

In our Delivery Customization function, provinceCode is null for UK addresses when it should have the corresponding province code. First report came in this morning.

        "deliveryAddress": {
          "address1": "[REDACTED]",
          "address2": null,
          "city": "London",
          "zip": "[REDACTED]",
          "provinceCode": null,
          "countryCode": "GB",
          "company": null
        },

We weren’t aware this change was going to happen - it sounds like it was intentional, but obviously this will break checkouts for UK shops that have come to depend on it.

We’ve reached out to our partner representative, but haven’t opened a ticket yet. Will post updates as we get them.

Hi @NickLozon, thanks for flagging this. We’re looking into this issue now.

We’ve been advised the change has been reverted. It does sound like it’s a change that will be happening, but roll-out might need to be approached where we deprecate the usage.

Side note: if this does happen, it’d be great to know the logic or data behind determining the “province code” - we could theoretically continue to support the feature within our function if possible.

@NickLozon Yes it has been reverted. This was an unintended side effect of a change intended for checkout and wasn’t meant to affect Shopify Functions. For context, the province code is determined using the zip value provided in the address.
