We are creating an affiliate app where basic functionality
-
Merchant installs app - Free / no cost
-
Wallet Top up: merchant adds money to the app’s "prepaid wallet” say $ 200 - …… THIS IS NOT REVENUE, ONLY TOP UP, SO NO SHOPIFY COMMISSION APPLICABLE.
option 1:
we ask merchant to add money using our payment route (not shopify billing) directly to our bank using
- shopify will not know how much merchant adds and the amount will then only reflect in the merchant pre paid wallet only
How can we do this, without effecting our chance to be a “ Built for Shopify App “ ?
option 2:
we would rather use shopify billing to raise an invoice for a customised amount (decided by merchant) of say $ 200, but shopify should not charge any commission as this is only user deposit, wallet top up. we were thinking of using the re-occuring charges function, incase it allows the amount to be customised?
HOW CAN WE DO THIS BEST KEEPING MIND TO BE A “BUILT FOR SHOPIFY” APP?
- Affiliate Commission: every time merchant has a sale due to our exclusive affiliate code applied, we charge varying 5% - 10% commission, which is deducted in the prepaid wallet of the merchant. Shopify needs to charge commission on this amount, so we need to keep shopify in the loop, ie we would like to a) raise an invoice to the merchant every month using Shopify billing or our partner Hyper wallet. This would allow shopify to know the affiliate commission earned every month automatically,
A) Shopify can deduct our app hyper wallet directly
B) Shopify can deduct merchant directly & we credit merchant for same amount in prepaid wallet
C) Shopify can raise an invoice to us for payment manually every month / periodically as required etc.
WHICH ONE WORKS HERE & HOW CAN WE DO IT?
