Hi Shopify team,
I build Shopify themes and use Claude (Claude Code and claude.ai) with the Shopify connector (setup.shopify.com/mcp). My work spans nine development stores in one organization: a source store, a CI store, six per-developer stores and a review store.
Problem. The connector reaches one store per Claude account. Moving to another store means calling switch-shop, which revokes the current store’s token, and I then have to re-authorize by hand in the connector settings. For multi-store work, such as seeding the same test data on two development stores or comparing a setting across stores, this means stopping, switching and re-authorizing each time. Parallel agents cannot work on different stores at all.
Request. Any one of these would solve it.
- Let one connection authorize several stores and let each tool call target a store, e.g. an optional
shopargument such asmy-store.myshopify.com, defaulting to the current store. - Or allow the connector to be added more than once, one instance per store, each with its own name.
- At minimum, have
switch-shopremember stores already authorized, so switching back does not need a manual re-authorization.
Limiting this to development stores, or to stores in one organization, would be fine for my use case.
I filed the same request on the Claude side: [FEATURE] Shopify connector: connect several stores (development stores) at the same time · Issue #99407 · anthropics/claude-code · GitHub
