I am trying to create a custom app (not embedded) for shopify integration with our new CRM we are going to be using soon at our practice. I followed the steps that the CRM showed me for creating the app and followed shopify’s help forum too. I created the app by going to apps—develop apps—then created it—tried to install it and that’s where I ran into an error. It redirected me after I said “install” and asked me to pick a store. The only store that showed was the name of the store I was currently associated with my login and I double checked, but we only have one storefront. It said it can only be can only be installed on stores that are part of the same organization. I tried to trouble shoot on my own but am deeply confused because we only have one storefront and I went to the develop apps from our account/same storefront. I chatted with Shopify help but they said seems that we are still on the merchant access in chat. They asked if I could try and reconnect with us again using the Partner access instead? I pressed switch store at the top and the only thing that came up was again the same store that i was using. They said they couldn’t see the Partner Dash where you have created the application. Do I have to be the store owner to do all of this? It won’t let me integrate the app because it is saying i am not associated already with the store. I am using a generic login (user access) that multiple team members can use, and i have admin capabilities. The Shopify help told me confirm that the store is correctly linked to the organization that owns the app. If the store is standalone, the app can only be installed on that store. I am confused and don’t know what to do from here. I need to install the app to get the API access token to given to our CRM and integrate.
