I have created a development store and I’m trying to set up Shopify Payments in test mode. However, it requires me to provide quite a lot of personal information (e.g. name, surname, date of birth, phone number, address) and eventually I need to submit all this data for verification.
I do not want to provide real/correct data, as this is a development store only with test-only payments.
Maybe I’m doing it wrong? Is there a way to activate Shopify Payments in test mode without providing (and waiting for verification) of all this information?
thanks for the reply, but we would prefer to keep using Shopify Payments.
We have used it for a few years now, and it seems this new verification set-up process for new Shopify stores is a recent change.
I understand why it’s there, but can it be skipped (or can fake data be used) if we only want to use Shopify Payments in test mode?
I would also like to do this.
We’re building an app, and our merchants will be using Shopify payments.
So I’d like to use Shopify Payments on our test store(s) in test mode.
It would be fantastic if we could do this without going through the full verification/approval process for Shopify Payments because we have multiple development stores (one for each of our developers building our app).
We can’t use the Bogus Gateway because our app needs to utilise customer’s saved payment methods in order to create subscription contracts.
